Back to Full Blog

I’m cold. Sitting here, I’m wearing the cold as a cloak. We’ve had one frost so far this winter and I’ve turned the heater on once – for a short burst just to break the icy air. Winter is a wonderful time of the year. I think it’s so nice because we know that it only stays for a few months – just enough time to truly make spring the bright morning star of our lives.

Some things seem to exist for that one and only purpose don’t they? To make something else look better than it actually is? But I think winter is here because we need rest. The days are shorter and it’s much too cold to go out for no reason during the night – so I like to snuggle under the bed covers early. Not everyone does I guess, but I like it. Like a quarter of the year exists to give us the opportunities to semi hibernate.

So i guess winter and summer are the things that frame the promise of vast growth and the opening door that offers us opportunities for rest.  I like… I live… I love…

Rosie - I echo the words you wrote here; the background music is great as well. Wish I could send you a bit of warmth! The weather you have seen from our part of the world is indeed sad for many - especially the floods in Iowa; some places have also been racked with torndos. Have a blessed day - snuggling - June

Hello Rosie, Without a winter how could we have the commence of spring? without spring we would never gaze apon a blooming cherry tree nor taste the nectur of the end of summer harvest. Without fall how would the leaves? And try to fathom there are no rainbows because rainbows get their colors from the foliage in autum.......the leaves must fall to give nurishment back to the soil to feed the buds of spring.... and how would i be able to ski? That reasonsw enough for winter to be... joram

N. I love all the seasons and am enjoying what winter brings. Our winters are very mild compared to many other places. Actually the whole planet goes white with snow where you are doesn't it? I love to see the pictures of it when it's steaming hot over here. I hope your summer is being relatively kind to you. Cheers...

Ohh Ron! A fire place is wonderful. Though we don't have one now, we have had several homes with fire places in them. They were WONDERFUL!!! We used to drag our mattress off the bed and into the room with the fire place and sleep in front of it. The kids used to love it so much! Most of them were combustion ones where i would cook soups and stews all day on them and at night hang the washing on a clothes horse and leave it infront of it and by morning all done! Just wonderful!

I hope you and June enjoy thousands of lovely cuddles infront of the fire place. Well, the great thing about cuddles is - there doesn't have to be a fire place does there? *giggles*

Yeah June, we've seen some frightening things on the telly. It's lovely that you offer some heat but i'll say no thanks. In summer we'll have more than enough to go around. If you can - store the heat you were going to send my way so you can just get it out when you need it later on. So sweet!

Hope you're grinning - it's nice when life causes us to grin...

Yeah Trisha. Good point!

That's when we dunk each other and slash each other in water. Water mellon fights are fun too! Hope you're enjoying your summer break and hope you get lots of dunks in water this summer. Cheers cheery chick!

So true Joram! I don't know so much about the cherry blossom but the cherries? Well... YUMM!!

I like the way you think. We don't have snow here - we have to travel up the big hill. I hope summer is being kind to you. Ohh... and there's only a few months to go till ski time! *giggles*

Rosie,

We do have a fireplace in this house - but we don't use it because it is gas-fired and I don't think it has been used for years - and when we did try to fire it up, there seemed to be a problem. We haven't bothered fixing it.

Of course, cuddles don't need a fire place - they create their own fire

I was just explaining to my younger son last night about global time zones. He thought they were "silly." I said, "Well, how would you like it to be dark at noon?" He answered that he wouldn't like that, so I said, "Well, without time zones it would be dark at noon for lots of people and they probably wouldn't like it either. How would you like it to be wintertime in the summer?" He shrugged, and said, "Not much." I told him: "Well it's wintertime in Australia right now. What d'ye know about that?"

it's depends the way people accept it, but those time are in some countries, and I think every time is good in life. winter is a good time to rest, to meditate when you are resting on bed as you say. Then we will have spring, nice time to see wonderful flowers and so on. Each time is wonderful and necessary to our lives. God is wise and generous, so I accept with love each time in my life.
Thanks for your nice writings
