Through the darkness drifts a hint of sound. Uncertain whether awake and not truly hearing or simply in slumber – where the sound is balm to the body and soul – I dare not move, dare not break the peace. The creature glides effortlessly slicing matter – permeating existence.
As breathing gradually becomes the only sound that feeds my consciousness, my trembling eye lids flutter and open. A slit of dim light breaks through and I hesitate, frightened to open them fully. Judgments become my protector, and my eyes close once again. Warm breathe washes over my face, sweetly scented bearing a gentle smile.
Why are we here? Where is this place? I acknowledge the struggle we face but I'm willing for this to be another life event.
Instantly my body relaxes. The breathing continues and the sweet scent carries me off to a place where I long to dwell forever…

Keep the Faith! Cuddle
I think that often in life when we aren't sure about situations, etc, we lean on our past experiences and faith. There is an old hym "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" your post made me think about the words in that song.
