The sound was deafening as tens of thousands of humans ejected spontaneously out of their seats screaming, cheering and crying. Emotional down pour, the heat suffocating the atmosphere was overpowering – euphoria of the heart over whelming – in this one stadium on this one day – simultaneously, some dreams were conceived and other dreams, realised.

We were witnessing the birth of much more than we could see with our eyes and our minds were exploding with hope, roaring as with one voice bringing balm to aching muscles, lightening and empowering tortured souls, as the athletes ran the final laps of the marathon.

Years of sweat, tears, pain and sacrifice – the callus loneliness that ravages while cruel patience births perfected brilliance – yes, many questions were answered in that one, long, exhausting, moment.
