Rosie the bunny slept soundly long into the day. The giggling brook tinkled by and the sun rose high into the sky. She dreamed of daffodils and daisies, bumble bees and butterflies. She also dreamed of her brothers and sisters in a burrow far, far away.
As she opened her eyes, her senses noticed the warmth of her bed and the nurturing moss beneath her little body. The air around her was moist and full of fresh goodness and her whole self smiled as she breathed in easily the sweet life renewing atmosphere.
Reluctant to move at all, eventually Rosie popped her head up out of the “safe place” that had been prepared for her and nibbled on some surrounding leaves. Even the ordinary grass was sweetest here and she was compelled to nibble some more.
Suddenly there came a great shout from behind the huge tree and instantly her ears vaulted upright and she froze with fear. Not until another little bunny came bounding by did she begin to breathe again. The other little bunny spun around and began shouting out at someone behind the tree when he stopped mid word, noticing for the first time Rosie, sitting upright, frozen in fear her eyes glued to his every movement.
“Hello there”, he cheerfully shouted, “My name is Buck, what’s your name?” Before long Rosie was not only meeting little Buck but the rest of his family as well. There were 8 kittens in all and their mum was loving, gentle and kind. “We're off to play in the stream, you wanna come too?” As Rosie went to play with her new friends, she learned more and more; laughing, singing and playing just as all little bunnies should…
Rainbows bring different shades of hue as the magic the stream flows...
