There's always Hope...

 Iris...

And I'd give up forever to touch you
'Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
'Cause sooner or later it's over
I just don't want to miss you tonight

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

 The sacrifice...

They used to play together on the plains, running and laughing; two young kids growing closer day by day. Though their lives looked the same, it was obvious to anyone else that they were vastly different; but not in their eyes. All each one ever knew was that life would not be worth a sniff without the other. They couldn‘t imagine themselves alone; one without the other, true friends forever. She is the love of his life, and will be the example against which all other relationships are measured.

They would sit around the fire at times of ritual or celebration, holding hands, sharing food. Being together was what they did, and when it was time for sleep, it was in each others arms, innocently curling up together outside under the great starlit sky through the warm summer night. I have often wondered if they should have been conceived in the same womb and born at the same time, but I guess theirs is a story that goes beyond the flesh and blood of this place and time; far beyond what simple mortals could know.

The teen years came too quickly for each of them; sudden and shocking. It was then the separation process had begun. She was chosen, it had been made obvious, and though the children would never truly understand, the spirit had spoken and thus, must be obeyed.

Every now and then I would watch him without her. A human’s spirit is a fragile thing and his had been broken in the deepest way. I guess he always held hope in his heart, convincing himself that this cruel time (where his life became a vessel filled with jumbled angry thoughts) would soon be over and they would become one as it should always have been. We all must deal with loss. Life is filled with cost.

The day of her sacrifice, we sent them out to hunt. The older men took the younger, out into the great plain. We had known of the time and as it drew ever nearer, the elders met and talked, planning….caring. They called it ‘the day of awakening’ when most of the women would take the girls and the men would take the boys and it would be a time of ‘awakening’, a spiritual day in the lives of the people and a joining together of the generations. They would make the day of sacrifice, a day to remember; to be drawn together, closer….safer.

I was there, I saw it all. She was so practiced, so willing, so very ready, and as I watched the beast turn and leave, fading into the distance, I turned to find him standing there. Where he’d come from or how he knew isn’t important. As he witnessed her moment of awakening, he had found his own. It was destiny I guess. Somehow as he watched her offer her life for all, he was made whole. He grew from a young innocent boy, into a man at that moment; the greatest man in the history of men. We had viewed it as her sacrifice but then we realised...

In truth the sacrifice...was his….

 Sacrifice...

The breeze washed over the hills and the tall grass resembled an ocean; huge and billowing in such great vastness as her gaze settled on the distant mountains. They rose from the earth like the mighty sentinels we always believed them to be; protecting the people, her people, just as they had for millions of years. It was in the dreaming that she heard the call. It was in the time that the judgement fell, to her clan, to her family, to her alone.

The wise woman had ever known the lot that would one day fall on this little child’s life, it was just a matter of when. Therefore, all knew she would survive the death sickness, and the snake bite. It was no surprise when she fell in the great fire, not only living but with out a scar to tell of the trauma… not a mark on her beautiful smooth, tanned skin. It was the magic on her life, the touch…

Like the others her hair was long and black, shining, reflecting almost blue in the sun light but most unlike any of them hers was wavy and alive. It danced and moved like the tall grass on the planes; an undulating sea of a dark glistening sheen, capturing the eye of any observer. She is one that will never know the touch of a husband or the attentions of a lover, her womb will never nurture an unborn and her breasts will never feed her future. She has been set apart for just one purpose and is trained in her craft, every moment of her life counted; being readied for such a time as this.

Indeed the time arrived for her to rise up and take hold of the call she has bourn all her life, for this one moment in time. She felt no fear, there was no fight. She watched and waited as he approached her. She uttered not so much as a whimper or the slightest cry as the great monster approached the place where she sat quietly, not a flinch as he took her whole into his mouth and devoured her alive; the willing sacrifice; the virgin beauty. It is true. There are people who are born simply to die.

Born for such a time as this…

 Dreaming...

It’s all in the dreaming. It’s all in the dream; the colours, the movement, the exquisite sensation of life. Day light is gone and so too are the shadows that plague a thought; the doubts that hinder acceptance, hinder truth. Touch is a sensation that lives within this touch less state, in this world of the blind essence of being.

Drawn toward the stationary tallness of another, to their intimate selves; it can be reached no other way, and in no other format does this raw honesty prevail and invade the very breath we breathe

Wonderful!

 What do you think...

I’ve been wondering of late. No one can really know what another person is feeling can they? Not really…

And… no one can really know what another person is thinking. Not really…

So does that mean that you can never really know anyone? Ever…?

Ohh trust is such a fragile thing isn’t it?

I have realized that I want to love you anyway, in what ever capacity you will allow me and to what ever extent I choose. So you keep being you and I’ll keep being me, and we’ll see how it goes. What do you think?
