There's always Hope...

 Meeting...

And then there were two.

Eyes locked in, viewing each moment of each other. While they sat each appraising the other, the world continued to spin by, the clock completed each tic-toc, and their hearts beat strongly and gradually in unison. Eventually fears fell away, muscles relaxed and the view became dream like – they each had donned the rose coloured glasses they had kept for this moment.

What is love? How can something so assumed be so powerful?

Regardless of the answer love does exist, and as cruel or kind as we each find it to be, the hope we find in the promise of love leads us urgently and deliberately to live…

 Life is good...

It’s all patterns – the way everything forms our surroundings. The rhythm of the rain, fluctuating heart beats build and sway, the dog stirs, birds call out, footsteps splash as they pass by yet the silence is complete. Muffled voices fade in and out as a warm breeze absently plays with a lock of hair.

Time has a power beyond understanding – though only a power we give it the license to have. There are some things that exist, patterns in design that we accept as a rule and time has been given one such honour. And it seems as though time itself has taken advantage of the power we have offered it – but could it be that some of us have not kept our word?

I remember being a child and begging for time to speed up so that I many enjoy the benefits of ‘grown up’ status. So I might drive myself here and there in my own car, or be old enough to leave school – maybe to marry and bear my own children and have my own family. What ever the reason for the rush, perhaps time listened.

Perhaps it’s that simple.

I like tomorrow but I like what today’s minutes bring as they pass by in their own individual yet identical way. I like now and I like next week. Yesterday was lovely and memories of it feed the dreams of tomorrow, but today is the journey that must be traveled – and that’s exciting!

Life is good…

 Trust

Through the darkness drifts a hint of sound. Uncertain whether awake and not truly hearing or simply in slumber – where the sound is balm to the body and soul – I dare not move, dare not break the peace. The creature glides effortlessly slicing matter – permeating existence.

As breathing gradually becomes the only sound that feeds my consciousness, my trembling eye lids flutter and open. A slit of dim light breaks through and I hesitate, frightened to open them fully. Judgments become my protector, and my eyes close once again. Warm breathe washes over my face, sweetly scented bearing a gentle smile.

Why are we here? Where is this place? I acknowledge the struggle we face but I'm willing for this to be another life event.

Instantly my body relaxes. The breathing continues and the sweet scent carries me off to a place where I long to dwell forever…

 Birthday Day For Me

Awww, thanks for remembering my birthday. It was on the 22nd of May and I was born in 1962 at 6am. Here in Australia it was yesterday (Thursday) but in other places in the world - it would be - today.

I'm 46, and have been for a day or so now. It's so nice.

I have eaten so much cake and we had take-away Chinese last night for dinner. Our daughter in law made this amazing cheese cake covered with rasberries! So yum.

On Monday night we went out for tea, on thursday morning a friend came over with cake, and then later another brought a heap of cake. There's always plenty of cake isn't there?

Happy birthday to me, yes but more than that, thank you for making it so lovely.

Cheers... Rosie
